In Response To: strange Santa Fe occurrence (Bob Koca)

The other odd thing about this story is that neither player had doubled. I thought early doubles were generally correct strategy at 2-away/2-away (e.g. based on the reasoning in the chapter "The Mysterious 2-Point Match" of "Backgammon Bootcamp".) Was there something about the course of the game that made it incorrect for either side to double?
