In theory of course. In practice I think not. This falls under the 'legal moves' blanket for me personally and I'd suspect for some others too. When I play with Neil for example it's assumed that we're playing legal moves and it is known anybody watching our match is at liberty to speak up per us if they see an illegal move. I hold keeping score in the same realm as I know neither of us would want to win this way.

I'm not arguing it shouldn't be the rule because it should without a doubt. I also agree you can't let the players decide themselves when certain rules can be bent, sometimes downright broken.
