My rule of thumb on these things is no matter how ugly the resulting position is, it is better to complete the full closeout than to deal with the gap the rest of the game. I'm sure there are exceptions; I don't think this is one. 6/3 4/3.

Perhaps if both spares were on the ace instead of ace and deuce you'd do something different.
