Jakob Garal has developed a special board and keypads that generates/captures the dice and the checker plays and spits out a real-time match record. Yet where has that gone? People find it interesting but just don't like the playing experience and so it has gone nowhere.

It was a great first try... and as far as I can tell, it worked. The implementation was clunky, down to lots of key entry into a keypad where you had to press really hard (they weren't buttons).

And believe me - nobody has tried to sell their concept harder than Jakob.

He's not helping his cause with his pitch of his crackpot "fair play rules".
