Score Based Cube Action?

I tried cubing a 2-5 game at 2-away 3-away a few months ago. It didn't work out so well, although I won the match.

I note two things here that are substantially different: 1) The anchors are on the 3-4 rather than 2-5, which seems worse for the backgamer and 2) Lots of volatility with either a clearing roll or a non-clearing but cracking sequence.
