Small one-off 4 or 8 player single-eliminations events in the US are usually called 'Knockouts' or simply 'Jackpots'.

The 'Blitz' is a special format common in many US tournaments where many 4 or 8 player single-elimination events are held. The winners of each of these are given a smallish prize and on the last day all these knockout winners meet in a single-elimination playoff for the rest of the money.

Speed Gammon is the best name for speed gammon.
