I wrote down all my calculations, but it's on a piece of scrap paper on my desk at work, so I think the mystery may remain unsolved until Monday :)

Off the top of my head, if you have the 6222 position and roll 65 64 63 62, you get off with 26 numbers next roll, not 25, right?

Aha, you're right. So far, that makes Opp's two-roll bearoffs 506 instead of 498 (or 508). That's only a small adjustment in the bigger picture (and of course won't affect the proper conclusion) but it's a start in the reconciliation.

I look forward to whatever else you might find, though no hurry on that. When we've agreed on the counts, I'll post a (brief!) resummary.
