Tim, your comments are excellent. In many situations, knowing that Player A thought about the play for a minute and Player B thought about it for two minutes probably wouldn't be relevant for Player C. There might be some situations, however, where Player D took 10 seconds to analyze a play, and then he finds out that two Backgammon Giants spent much more time on it; Player D might then realize that he is rushing his plays in situations where he should take more care.

Because it appears that not many other people (if any) are interested in hearing about "analysis time," I'll withdraw my initial request.

PS to Tim: I inadvertently drew you into the focus of a discussion that was meant for the general community, and I apologize if you took it the wrong way.
