Neil: What do you mean by using N57 with a 1 pip adjustment? Anyhow, to use N57 for this low a pip count we need to subtract a number clearly small than 32.

Nack: In the position common to both your posts, a leader count of 38 is being used; if your point is that it makes no sense to use N57 for that position, I agree.

I think David momentarily forgot that the N57 formula only applies down to a leader count of 57 (or so) or that he meant to say "the lower Trice formula" (subtract 5, divide by 7, round down) when citing his example. For simplicity's sake, I suggest you replace "N57" with "gold standard table" when rereading his post.
