The key here is that Dorn's frontal position isn't good for a backgame if you simply make the 8 pt. I didn't think this was as big a pass as XG RO's said, so I tried 1000~ games with GNU and stopped it as it was about 1.09 to 1.10.

Also, I think if you joker him and make the 4 pt cleanly, you may end up at least somewhat TG here.

That being said, I am not convinced that we yet have bots that are capable of providing really accurate results in developing backgames, however it really does seem that the position is at least a bare pass.
