I actually don't know the first thing about the whole P65 situation, you might call it a hole in my game. If I had the slightest inkling who you might be talking to, I would be more than happy to lean on them. I am actually something of a goody two-shoes when it comes to the integrity of the game, but I also think it is important that there be some reasonable facsimile of a fair process.

Illuminating. You don't even know the entire story as presented here on BGO and you've been questioning the details...

Two disclaimers since I sense we are wrapping up this sub-thread. First, I have no vested interest in sticking up for PJT. He is merely someone I chouetted with a couple of times back in the day, and while he certainly seemed like a nice guy, I am not foolish enough to think I can look into someone's soul at our first encounter and determine whether they are a cheater. The cheater from our FIBS chouette was also a perfectly nice guy, from everything I can determine.

I don't like calling PJT a cheater for this. The term seems to apply more to live backgammon. While it would be considered a form of cheating on those servers I'd prefer to call him a scammer or some other term as to not imply that anyone has ever made the slightest allegation that he has cheated in a live event.

Second, Stick has a well-earned reputation in the backgammon community and I am not looking to dispute his credibility in any way. My view is that if Stick is wrong about PJT, it is because he has been misled or because he has misinterpreted something, not because is looking to smear someone's good name. If I had to stake my life on one position or the other, I would certainly think Stick is more likely than not to be correct in what he says about PJT. However, the universe is such that I don't actually have to commit to one belief or the other about PJT in the absence of any evidence either way.

Of course, if I was going to besmirch someone's good name for shits and giggles I have a list and PJT is not even in my top 10. #1 is Carter and his good name of course and extending to #10, John O'Hagan, who has been playing that nice guy card too long. (suuuuure, it's merely *coincidence* that boards and video equipment went missing at tourneys only John was at)
