Relative to your comments and Gregg's, I am not saying that a tournament director can not and should not ban an unsavory character from playing. I believe they can, and do, and should. I am saying that an organization, such as the USBGF, has a different set of legal problems listing people that should be banned or refusing membership to people because they are thought to be cheaters or of questionable character.

I believe a tournament director can kick anyone out of the tournament on the spot simply because he doesn't like that person's behavior or attitude. But preparing, posting, or distributing a list of names, or a person's name, identifying them as a cheater raises legal questions that I am not qualified to address, but I have been advised by attorneys for organizations that the risk would be significant to the organization and myself personally.
