Four critical calls from the Super Bowl

Payton coached a great game, with very few bad decisions. His errors tend to be on the aggressive side anyway. He is one of the few coaches that will err in that direction. Most of the other coaches repeatedly make terribly conservative-by-nature/wrong decisions.
I think all of the plays mentioned by Chuck were pretty clear to me at the time of the game. I was not expecting the on-side kick, but I think it was clearly a great call and I would think so had they not recovered. The TD attempt on 4th and goal with 1:55 to go was automatic. If they don't make it, which team has the greatest chance to score again before halftime? The two-point conversion was standard.
I was surprised the Colts tried the long filed goal. Stover does not have the leg for a 51 yarder and to risk giving the Saints the ball at their 41 yard line with only a 1 point lead was a poor decision.
I don't blame Payton for not going for it, even if he knew it was probably right, on 4th and 2 from his own 31 yard line on the Saints opening drive. That is one that could get a coach, wrongly, dissed by everyone and inch him closer to future unemployment. Maybe the job-risk/gwc-reward was not worth it there. OTOH, I would have had great respect for him had he gone for it.
