Since I just filled out a survey on the New Mexico tournament I thought I should share my experience with BGO'ers:
The location, the staff, the hotel, and the snow were more wonderful than anything I could have wished for. Starting with the cocktail party hosted by Ed Bennett and continuing with the dinner/doubles tournament and the Saturday night dinner it was more than just another backgammon tournament, it was also a social event, a very enjoyable one. The city is a beautiful place to visit with more to do and see than one could hope to accomplish in a month. Museums and galleries populate the city like no other I have been to. I really enjoyed the Georgia O'Keeffe Gallery and the International Folk Art Museum. The architecture is something to behold in this 400-year-old city. The St. Francis Cathedral was stunning. Pat Gibson did a spectacular job running the event. Both Ed's and the staff were very gracious. I will recommend this event as one of the top ABT events. Kudos to Ed Rosenblum and the staff, well done!
