Can anyone recommend which types of clocks to use?

Chronos are nice but more expensive and apparently some people have a tendency to grab them and throw them to the ground. Or bang really hard on them.

Personally I'd be pretty unhappy if someone broke my clock but that's why they can't play with nice things.
