I think the Trice effective pip count is better than the Keith count for analyzing late bearoff positions like this. A pure 4-roll position has an EPC of 29 but both sides are a little worse than this so their EPC's are closer to 30. Walter's rule said the trailer could take if he trails by 1 effective pip or less (leader's number of rolls minus 3). He's around even here, so it's a take for money.
