Not sure if I parsed all the negatives in Stick's response correctly but I thought his prediction was that the double hit would not be technically correct.

Hypothetically, though, suppose that the double hit were, in fact, not technically correct. If Stick were still inclined to play the double hit, then it might be right for a strong but unknown player to play 41U against Stick. By pretending to be a weak player he or she would then trick Stick into losing equity.
