Actually this scenario didn't happen.
The first half did. Player A performed the motion as I described.
I was Player B, but I was getting drilled in the game and I did not want to see the cube, at all. So I didn't say a thing.
But I posited the scenario to, once again, point out the ambiguities of the rule. I'm glad there was at least one disagreement to the majority opinion.
As Rich pointed out, an Open level player should know better. Agreed. But what this is really saying is, is that an Open level player should be experienced enough to know what the unwritten interpretations of a vaguely worded rule are.
Stick wrote, I never budge until the cube is officially turned and I never roll until my opponent's dice are clearly off the surface, saves the hassle of the reaching for the cube crap or sliding dice bs. If only everyone else did the same.
