First, let me state that I have all the respect in the world for Neil. He is a brilliant backgammon player that has shared his insight and expertise with me on many occasions and for that I am greatly appreciative.
Neil, it is too bad you feel this way and I hope you change your mind and do attend this 30th Chicago Open. This format is what Howard and I came to as a new idea for the Chicago Open. I contacted a few of the most respected players and leaders in the backgammon world seeking their feedback. Mast liked the idea but reccommended some changes. We took their responses and designed this tournament. Our main goal was to give all players lots of play and allow rebuys at a great discount giving all players a great chance to cash while also building a nice prize pool. I called and left you either 2 or 3 voicemails seeking your opinion and never received a call back. If you care enough about the ABT and dislike certain formats enough to publicly state that you will not be attending because of the format, and also state that this is the "worst format ever" then you can only blame yourself for not calling me back.
Once again I hope you do attend and wish you to please offer some constructive criticism that may help us make this tournament and future years better.
