Is gamesmanship always a bad thing?

You have hit on one of the most difficult areas to define. If I am up 22 pips in the race and I know it's a big drop, am I being "unethical" if I take a long time to decide to turn the cube? In doubles, many players even lie to each other out loud about their feelings in order to throw their opponents off. Is this unethical?
If my opponent is thinking about doubling and I reach for my pen and pad as if I am going to score it, and then he doubles and I take, was that unethical?
I have my opinion on these kinds of things, and I am sure not everyone agrees which of the above is good sportsmanship.
One thing I am sure of: this will always be a gray area that cannot be completely regulated.
