Not too late to change the entry fee and buyback structure is it?

I don't think a 5% rake is all that onerous... but I'm with Bob Glass... it "feels" wrong somehow. When I look at a tournament structure, I rarely balk at the rake rates, EXCEPT when I see there's a rake on side pools.
I'm totally fine with the tournament making a buck, but I'd rather them find a way to do it differently. Lots of side events! Make them quick! REBUY!!!

Neil notes that if tourneys can't at least break even, we'd have fewer of them, how ever I agree that even a small rake in SP's seems wrong (or I wouldn't have mentioned it in the first place). A couple years ago, every SP was 100% return if I recall correctly.
It is a delicate balance since if we don't have SP's then normal entry fees need to go up to appeal to higher rollers. That being said, I will certainly think twice prior to getting into SP's that aren't 100% return.
