I think we basically agree, but 8/5* 6/5* is wrong, implying two hit checkers. I do not object to either 8/5* 6/5 or 8/5 6/5*.
I think the Snowie notation algorithm is like this: 1) Move the furthest back checker first, and if there is a hit the * goes with the first checker that hits. 2) If both checkers come from the same starting point the checker that moves the furthest goes first. 3) Not sure exactly how it does all doubles; one oddity is if you have a checker on the 11 and 7 and roll 22 to make the 5-point, it shows 11/7 7/5(2) instead if 11/5 7/5.
