Stick explained it for great brains.

I try to explain for usual brains.

1) gains a) We are ahead in race b) We need landing pad to clear 13pt c) 5pt is nice to have. (it stops opp 44.)

2) risks d) Opponent board is weak e) We have prime and some builder(6pt, 8pt) f) Opponent has to leave 22pt anchor to hit if we slot at the bar.

items in 1) give us lot gains to slot. items in 2) discourage opponent to hit.
