Blue is ahead in the race and must make an effort to escape. If he doesn't, White will bring two chequers down and it will be 13 against 1. Blue must step up to the 22 point, with daylight a 6 away. White will likely attack, but he won't be able to neatly make his points in order, which should give Blue chances to run. 10/6 is the logical follow-up. Slotting the 4 would be nice, but it's too dangerous, allowing White to attack the back man almost with impunity.
