The 3a 1a double was memorable. I noticed that Gus was going to try "the trick". I knew this situation thoroughly already though. Sometime after his joker 44 and before the cube he mumbled something like "did it to myself" so I think he realized he had missd the double. Possibly though he didn't realize it and it was part of a bluff. I had been studying Kit's encyclopedia the previous month and for match play use had been looking at wins and gammon breakdowns and that led to me think that I would be losing more gammons than winning games.
