Thank you, Barry. Bob had a valid point. But I did not see in your original post any indication of attempted or suspected subterfuge. I saw rather a case of "no harm, no foul, play on." And while many rules could be more clear or more specific, I think we should be careful that procedural rules are not so detailed that they invite misuse. Some minor procedural failings may be annoying or "wrong" but still harmless; the rules concerning them should not be such that most players in most situations would just ignore the minor fault, while some players would only choose to enforce them when it was to their advantage. I'm all for clarity, though! So best wishes with your (and others') efforts.
