OTB, I thought this was an uncomfortable but definite take. Surprisingly to me, the rollout indicates that it's a big drop. My simplistic explanation is that I just underestimated how likely a gammon loss would be if I got hit. But I haven't played around with enough variants of the position to verify this theory.
