The front position looks much better after that than after 24/22 6/2* and the back not clearly worse.

White is not threatening much so the wild 6/2* doesn't seem particularly useful. It would be different if the other White blot was on the 18 instead of the 20 ; then it would at least unlink the back men.

The 10 point looks more like two builders at the same place than a durable asset, hence the 6-points-apart argument seems moot.
