5/1 5/3x leaves 2 fewer immediate shots but double jeopardy makes it the wrong play. If the oppt dances or enters with a 6 (other than the already counted 63 or race-forcing 66), a third of your shakes leave a direct next time and some of the ones that don't fail to clear the 9-point. This play also leaves 3 extra outside pips and an extra outside crossover so it gets g'd more often when the oppt rolls a hitting 3. OTOH, it does change D5 into a bad number.
9/7 9/5 is better. If the shot is missed, only D4 is a problem.
