I have IE 8.

I went to Tools/Internet Options/Colors.

"Use hover color" is unchecked.
"Use Windows colors" is checked.
Text, Background, Visited, Unvisited, Hover: all grayed out.

There is one link there to click on: "How to ignore preset colors." There, there are a large number of menus to look through, and without guarantee of success; I was hoping for a more specific direction or simpler fix.

To be clear, I don't care what colors the messages are. Only that they are not all the same color so I can distinguish which I've clicked on and which I haven't. As it stands (unlike before), all messages remain in blue no matter what I do.

I thought this might be a common problem, but I guess not. I much appreciate you trying to help, though :)
