A few simple things to try:

1. Tools/Internet Options: On the General tab, click on the Accessibility tab in the lower right and make sure every option is unchecked.

2. Tools/Internet Options: On the Advanced tab there is a button at the bottom to Reset Internet Explorer settings to their default. You'll lose any other changes you might have made, but this should either fix the problem or eliminate the browser settings as a source of the problem

3. If the above doesn't work, maybe you can override the browser settings by forcing your own color choices. Tools/Internet Options: On the General tab, click on the Colors button. From there, uncheck Use Windows colors. The various options below that should be set to different colors. If they are not, you can set them yourself.
