Bob: Altering the preferences didn't solve this particular problem, but I learned some useful tricks in the process. (For example, to search for an old post, first change "week(s)" to "year(s)".)

Chase: For 1, all options were already unchecked, and for 3, there were already four different colors. I held off on 2, hoping that someone would suggest something less radical, and then...

Gregg: Deleting the browsing history worked!
