I'm confused as to why White wins 3% fewer games holding the cube than without it. His gammon percentage also drops, so it doesn't look like he's losing those games going after extra gammons.

This effect comes almost entirely from poor bot evaluation of the position when the rollout stops after D/P later in the no double thread.
