A tough position, but I would definitely take. I suspect that an important cause of the disagreement is the assessment of how difficult it is to escape White's rear checker. When Blue does not have much ammunition nearby, it is easier to escape that checker than most people realize. By the time Blue brings up more ammo, White will probably have a stronger board and Blue may not want to hit loose.

The double I'm not so sure about. In practice I might double just because I would get some passes. If I were concerned about my error rate, though, I would probably not double. I suspect that it's technically not quite a double, or if it is a double then it's close.
