I found out about it a couple of days ago and chose not to say anything.

Obviously a most unfortunate, sad situation -- can you imagine the trauma of the children?

I sincerely hope Rod is not involved beyond the obvious relationship, parenthood, etc.

If, in fact, it is proven she was murdered then I hope the murderer, whomever that is, is caught and successfully prosecuted to the full extent of New York law.

Even in the most innocent similar cases considerable suspicion always falls on the surviving spouse, or ex-spouse. A very good friend of mine in Houston a number of years ago experienced a similar event. His wife, who had a history of seizures, fell and was killed in the shower with teenage kids at home at the time and my friend at work. But, due to the circumstances and since she had not long before come into some serious money, he was questioned extensively (and went through hell) before being cleared.

You never know.
