In fact rebuys could serve to counter the deep pocket via extra travel advantage by providing all players with potential extra entry opportunities without the extra airfare and hotel costs.

The way to make this completely fair in a simple rebuy situation like Vegas is to charge everyone a $800 entry instead of $500 and then make the format such that all first match winners receive $300 while all losers are given a second entry.
