I side with Chuck here -- I'm a big boy, I can make up my own mind, I can filter as I wish.

Obviously, I'm not an expert on NYC newspapers. Perhaps the Post is a tabloid; however, in my opinion, the Times is no paragon of virtue either. Seems to me, rather than being an objective reporter of the news, it has descended into one of the most agenda-driven, biased, propaganda rags imaginable -- circulation and profitability seem to reflect my opinion.

The basic facts are the basic facts -- report the basic facts. Beyond those facts we know very little. We are all free to form opinions or reserve judgement as we wish.

I choose to reserve judgement, not to speculate, and to wait for more to become known. As a friend/acquaintance I certainly hope Rod is not involved. For the sake of the children I hope Rod is not involved -- it is unimaginable enough to lose one parent. I think it is in the interest of the community-at-large -- and you may define 'community' in a myriad of manners -- that the case be quickly resolved. It is important to all to be aware of the situation.

I do not, however, think any of the basic factual information should be withheld -- obviously, any more detailed information, the release of which could compromise the ongoing investigation, should be kept private during the investigation.
