Even if 13/11(2) wins the rollout slightly, I'm playing 24/22(2) here, because of the difficulty of deciding when and whether to split later if I don't step up now. Though I've gotten much better at judging when and whether to split in the face of a lot of builders, I still make significant errors. I think it's easier to play the position after 24/22(2). As a bonus, 24/22(2) puts pressure on the opponent to split, and at least among people I play regularly, one of the most common checker-play errors I see is not splitting enough.
