32D-22 and related positions

I have a couple of questions. In today's post you show an XG rollout:

XG 3-ply [N E2 @12] 51k

However, in an [April 11th post] also on 32D-22, you show:

XG 3-ply [N E2.4 @13] 77k

So the more current nacbrac shows a shorter rollout. Can you clarify what's going on with this one?

Good catch, and great question.

In the earliest version(s) of XG, the number of reported trials were only 21/36, compared to the way other bots report them.

For example, I assumed XG's 62208 meant 62208 (the way that other bots counted it) and transcribed it that way in my data documents. But it actually only works out to be 62208 x 21/36 = 36288. To clarify, the earlier version (I no longer remember exactly which -- Xavier would know -- but for now just for example let's say it is version 1.09) reports the file as 62208 trials while version 1.10(?) reports the same file as having only 36288 trials.

The two 32D-22 rollouts that I had with XG 3-ply (the first rolled out by Ken with the old version, and the second rolled out by Stick with the new version) I had transcribed as

XG 3-ply [N E3 @15] 62k
XG 3-ply [N=E @5] 15k

Evidently, in the April 11 post, I had combined the above to [N E2.4 @13] 77k. But then when looking at it today, I noticed that the 62k was with the early version, and therefore correctly interpreted the data as

XG 3-ply [N E3 @15] 36k
XG 3-ply [N=E @5] 15k

which, with slight rounding, combines to [N E2 @12] 51k, as I reported earlier today.

All my old 9k, 18k and 36k files are all on queue to be extended to their originally intended targets of 15k, 31k and 62k, so eventually these discrepancies will no longer occasionally rear their heads.

Here's an amusing (if not tragic) bad beat story: Stick e-mailed me a few months ago that he had failed to get the memo of the XG changeover. He came home from a trip, updated his XG version, and then noticed that all his XG files had these funny number of trials he didn't remember rolling. In case they were corrupted, he threw out all his files and started over :)

Also, what does 15k@ in the Gnu nacbrac mean?

Barry answered this (well) in his post. He is correct that the 15k applies only to the @ play.

To give you another example, here is the expanded Snowie rollout (for 32D-22), which includes two candidates I didn't list before:

[N E8 @10 M34 n54] 31k 5kMn

This means that all plays in the rollout are 31k, except M and n are 5k.

Hypothetically, if M had been rolled out 10k (instead of 5k), I would write it this way:

[N E8 @10 M34 n54] 31k 10kM 5k

In this case, it would be unnecessary (though optional) to write the "n" play after the 5k, because the fact that M is by itself means that any plays appearing before M are 31k and all plays appearing after M are 5k.
