By bearing off one checker here instead of two...

1) ...you save some time by making the faster play! 2) ...you are positioned better if your opponent ends up on the bar somehow. 3) ...there's a better chance your opponent miscounts your "rolls left"* and make a bad double or take. (* or comes to the wrong conclusion using a race formula)

Therefore you should always make the move gnubg suggest here.

BTW: (-0.000) doesn't seem like a big difference to me! ;-)
