My first inclination was to hit and make the 5pt (8/5*,6/5), then looking some more, I wondered about making the bar and 5, or the 5 & 3 (no hit).

Given that the cube is turned already, then I want to hit the checker. Between the bar + 5 and just the 5pt, I think I will stay with my initial thought, and not make a point that I want to clear (whilst opp is in the awkward 2pt hole). 8/5*,6/5.
