A fun problem.

Against a two-point anchor it is often right to clear the seven point before the eight point, so I'm not going to make any move that leaves the seven made.

Simply making the three and five points should win the most games because it eliminates the two most troublesome gaps, and blue can now play 3s and 5s safely from the eight point.

Hitting and lifting is a possibility, because it will increase the gammons won. 8/7*/6(2) looks awkward when it comes to dealing with odd numbers. Two plays look reasonable: 8/7*/5 6/5 and 8/7*/6 4/3(2). The gap on the three point is going to be an obstacle for longer, so I think making the three beats making the three.

My gut feeling is that hitting the blot won't win enough gammons so I'm simply going to fill in the home board. To really put my neck on the block, I'll estimate that my play wins about 10% more games and 3% less gammons.
