I have just looked at the blocked position. I have found an additional solution for the sequence 2-2, 6-6, 4-4, 6-6.
Yes, good!
I assume there other orders that work for these rolls.
Which orders don't work?
I have not been able to find a third set of rolls that works in the blocked position.
Nor (I'm guessing) have you found it for the unblocked position, or you probably would have mentioned it.
It seems a requirement that there be two sets of different doublets between 1 and 4 to unstack the men on the six point because you can not waste 4 crossovers unstacking the 6 with 1-1 and 2-2 and 3-3 and 4-4 can only be played to one point.
A correct and astute observation. Only one smaller-than-55 doublet is sufficient if you use both the 24pt and 23pt checker in the prime, but that requires 90 pips, and 66 66 66 44 sums to only 88 pips. To utilize all three 6pt spares, one of your doublets must be no larger than 44, and another no larger than 33.
