since the back checker is then blocked by sixes and within direct hitting range for the stack on XG's eight point

Do you really see any situation where being on the 23pt will lead to an attack by your opponent? Your opponent is up almost 30 pips in the race and will not be looking to attack deep in his home board behind your anchor. (meaning he can never successfully carry out an attack anyway)

I would look more towards the amount of shots left of 24/23 v. 10/9 and the duplication or diversification of my opponent's numbers when deciding where to push the ace.
