I fail to see how random assignment of numbers to the winner of matches prior to the matches being played is any different from random assignment of numbers after the matches are played. How would pregenerating the draw have prevented you from having to play the same player twice if that player was allowed to enter twice in random spots?

Or are you proposing that a special portion of the drawsheet should be reserved for first round losers, thus making it more likely that some first round loser will get a nice easy trip into the finals because they only have to ever face other first round losers?
