Re search field size, I noticed that 11/8, the play John suggested, was ranked 24th in 2-ply analysis. I don't think it's the best play (Blue should trap (if he traps) by opening a small number), but ... 24th ??
Here's another redouble decision that Gnubg 2-ply mangles. I must say it's fun to catch bots making quadruple blunders. 3-ply correctly passes, but still underestimates Blue's equity.
