Chase, that was also my thinking - if you hop out and get missed, you still have to take care of both blots. Also, usually in these 'run out' positions you don't need to be afraid of a second blot being picked up, and here that is a threat. Finally, White's board is strong here.

I'd also go with 13/8, which is positionally nice, and brings a builder for the 2-point.
