I wouldn't want a collection of stripped points in the outfield in front of his anchor with the race this close. Even with QF I play 9/5, 15/13. Then I can build the home board points in order while waiting either for him to leave a shot or me to get into a favorable race, not that odd a thing to hope for when down only six pips and the opponent has this much wastage.
