Hit, of course. The only real choice is between 24/18*/16 and 24/18* 20/18. The obvious play is to create a spare and leave no blots with 24/18*/16. Are there any arguments that would override the obvious advantages of 24/18*/16? Not really. We're still a long way behind in the race and aren't in a hurry to get all our checkers around. No reason to give up the 5-point anchor and allow White to counterattack and fill in his board unimpeded. There's a good chance that there will be future exchanges of hits and in that event, a home-board anchor is much more useful than the bar-point anchor.
