What's the plan?

The usual plan in a mutual holding game when you're ahead in the race is to make a break for it at the opportune time and turn it into a one-way holding game.

You could try to make a break for it now by hitting. But that gives White a golden opportunity to seize an advantage by hitting your blots. White could easily double hit and force you back to the ace point or deuce point. You might end up with three or even four checkers back. You do have a four-prime that makes it somewhat difficult for White to extract the back checkers, but White may have plenty of time to escape if you're busy dancing. And what's the best case scenario? White enters on the 5-point and you escape your other checker, reaching a one-way holding game that you would likely be able to reach anyway with less risk by just waiting. You'll have gained some pips, but that's not necessarily a big win in a five-point holding game.

You don't have to shred your position just yet. Playing 9/6 3/1 or 9/6 4/2 maintains all your assets. White is not necessarily going to be eager to break anchor and play a one-way holding game when behind in the race. Even if White chooses to do that, you have a decent five-point holding game. White won't be able to double you and you will probably have plenty of time to roll lucky doublets and win the race, if you don't hit a shot first.
